Maywood police investigate overnight shooting death of cab driver

Maywood police are still investigating the overnight shooting of a cab driver who was killed during an apparent armed robbery.

34-year-old Seneca Richardson was found slumped over the wheel of his cab with a gunshot wound to the back.

Police say it happened at around 8:45 Friday night on 4th and 5th streets near Congress in Maywood.

Members of Richardson’s family said he was not involved in any gangs or any criminal activities. They say he got a call for a ride Friday night, and that’s the last they heard from him.

It is the first murder Maywood police have investigated this year.
