New York — Suited up, wearing a mask, goggles on and a partition between the driver’s and passengers side, Myle driver Aziz Nizomov is ready to work.
“I clean the car every day,” he said. “For me and for customers”
You may remember when ridesharing app Myle launched in mid-February.
Back then, CEO Aleksey Medvedovskiy knew he would have a tough road ahead going up against ride sharing giants Uber and Lyft.
What he didn’t anticipate was a pandemic unlike ever before in modern times to take place just a month into his new venture.
“It is really tough, we’re trying to do our best,” he said.
In response to the pandemic, both Uber and Lyft have been providing free disinfectants and face masks to drivers.
But Myle is taking it a step further, outfitting drivers’ vehicles to protect them from COVID-19, while also providing them with protective equipment.
“We provide driver’s with PPE, masks, body suits, goggles,” Medvedovskiy told PIX11 News. “Disinfect area around them.”
Nizomov told us he continues to go to work but is concerned about possibly being exposed to COVID-19, as his wife is pregnant.
“It’s scary but I still need to drive to provide for my family.”
Myle says it’s taking these steps to protect what they consider an invaluable asset, their drivers.

For their part, Uber has also set up an emergency cash assistance fund for drivers who have tested positive for coronavirus or drivers who have a compromised immune system.
